Fair enough (and thanks), but that doesn't effect comparisons to previous contractions. The contraction in 2000 was extremely mild compared to what we're in now, and you really have to go back a ways to find something comparable. Which gets to my point: How can the author of you article claim GDP contraction is about what was expected when it's actually quite extraordinary? SD
