I have no "position", other than to quote what others who are more knowledgeable about the subject than you or me have said.

You said that Saddam should not have believed he had a green lite to invade Iraq based on what the ambassador had said. Bentway's article makes very clear why he thought he had a green lite.

More importantly, had Bush I not been playing games a war could have been avoided. Think about all the innocent Americans and Kuwaitis who got killed back then.......all the American soldiers who to this day struggle with the gulf war disease. Think about all the billions that could have been spent in this country for the benefit of Americans instead of pissed away on a war in the ME. I am sickened to think of all the waste.
