Well, as satisfying as bringing back the guillotine to inject a bit of quick and dirty justice might be, there is no way to do so, I don't think, but there is a modern day equivalent: class action lawsuits.

The RS article's description of the selling of toxic assets while taking short positions on them as being classic securities fraud is surely not unnoticed by that most predatory beast: the class action lawyer.
