To paraphraze the great Earth Firster Judi Bari, experience shows that intelligence is pretty equally distributed among the social classes (Dan Quail being a good example). Just because the average person is dim doesn't mean the average monarch isn't just as dim. That's the beauty of markets and the beauty of democracy. With enough dim bulbs working together you may get a decent amount of light..
