That's part of it.....another big factor, in my opinion, is that they are jacking the prices up to make up for the big discounts in insurance receipts. If Kenny's bill was 14k, I suspect that less than half of that amount was actually paid by medicare.

The uninsured that try to pay in full for the services rendered are getting hammered. There are still a few of those folks around.(not sure for how long)

Prices are inflated for a lot of reasons and more government involvement can only make it worse.
