Digs -- I think the options pain calculator is interesting, but any real value would lie mostly in the long term statistics of how often the option pain value was matched by the price at expiry
I tracked 5 that I was watching, here is what I got:
issue, OP, close
SPY 91, 94 POT 95, 90 FSLR 160, 145 DVN 55, 55 (APA 70, 75) IBM 100, 115
1 out of 5
Now the closes were all at some strike, so that might offer something..so, additional statistics would be required that would note if the close was at any strike. To me, that would be rather beneficial in making trades on Wed or Thurs. If the price is say 52 and indicators are strong, then one could argue that my risk to 55 was low.
so you need OP, %OPmade, %close at any strike, ..... I'm sure that if I thought about it, there would be more. And I believe that if I am thinking about these stats, that they already exists..... just need to find where it exists. |
