<<we've created a society of zombies who no longer believe they're even capable of thinking for themselves>>

How true...

Local case in point.. I live in a neighborhood w/ a long section of 'common land'.. We all use it for social events, pitch a ball, walk the dog, etc... Although it is used by neighbors, it is owned by several homeowners, but is the back end of long lots and sits behind stockade fencing. Outta sight, otta mind for most of them...

When the grass gets tall or there is trash or limbs sitting about, I often go over and cut and clean up... a few of my neighbors are shocked at this, and in most cases, they want to call the city and begin code enforcement on the rightful owners....

I am as baffled by this. I guess they are too, that I would take matters into my own hands and spend time to cut and clean others property..

They want the 'man' to come over and enforce this or that code... all the while they could have it cleaned up and looking great w/in a few minutes...

Sheese... long post for a simple point.. sorry.
