" If philv criticizes Greenspan, he must be part of “stupid mobs” and therefore, he should “go to hell.”
Well, your considerable psycho analysis of what it is that Maurice is actually saying is a work in progress. As I am apparently a member of a particular mob, as you note, whose descriptive adjective, which I don't particularly like, or agree with, I would say in my defence, that although there are many aspects of capitalism I do not like, I like even less the communist persuasion. There are gross inequities in both camps, but my hope was that even a person of questionable intelligence would be allowed to express outrage from time to time when examples of incompetence or misuse of power, leading to corruption and fraud have surfaced. But if one thinks that the pure capitalist economic system is self correcting, a mob or revolution is therefore not necessary, perhaps never has been in history? We should therefore simply do nothing, and live in glorious silent trust, knowing that the system will always be tilted in the direction of equality for all, including for the "stupid".
