Alford was on the O'Reilly program last night. It was an interesting exchange. O'Reilly kind of took your position -- that is, that Boxer isn't a racist, that she just sort of said it all wrong.

Alford was not forgiving; while he didn't use the term "racist", it was plain to me why he was offended by it. But O'Reilly never quite understood the racist aspect of it.

It wasn't an in-your-face racism that was displayed; it was far more insidious -- the kind tejek commonly displays. A condescending sort of lump-sum comparison that is racism by implication.

When Boxer referred to the NAACP, she was in effect saying, "You're black, they're black, you should not disagree with them. You're all black." That's racist if ever anything was. She might not have INTENDED to be a racist.

Neither did Archie Bunker.
