WASPy "Vanilla Dale" recognizes his limitations:
The world we live in is growing more and more diverse; if you want an effective management team (which is basically what the SC does for our legal system) you'd want someone at least very familiar with Latina workers in a Florida factory, if not a Latina herself.
Most WASPy country club judges lack that experience. They will bring a different cultural perspective to their cases, it's inevitable.
Do we want the same vanilla judges in a 33-flavor world? Is vanilla inherently superior because it was always on top, or is it just old and out of date now?

It seems "Vanilla Dale" recognizes the urgent need for culturally and racially sensitized judges for all those cases the SC hears involving Latina workers in Florida factories. THAT'S why we need a wise Latina on the Supreme Court because ONLY a Latina woman could understand the issues involved in such cases, opines legal genius "Vanilla Dale" Baker.
All our other SC judges are "WASPY country club judges" who lack experience with people unlike themselves, like Scalia, Thomas, Alito, Ginsburg, Breyer, Kennedy .... wait a minute, these folks are Catholics, Jews, Italians, Irish, Black, not one of 'em a WASP. There have to be some wasps on the court don't there? Let's see .... how about Roberts - whoops, he's Catholic too. Well, there's Souter - whoops, Souter's gone. Ah, Stevens, finally. One lone WASP and him the grand old man of our liberal justices. Yeah, we need to get rid of him, the old out of date vanilla judge.
Isn't it amazing this nitwit with no experience outside a government bureaucracy decides waspy "vanilla" people are old and out of date and just can't manage in a "33-flavor world". Say maybe that does sound like Stevens. LOL Surprised he didn't think up a cutesy name for Latina's .... like pecans or butterscotches.
Now we know why "Vanilla Dale" took himself out of the work force almost a decade ago. He knows he's out of date and out of touch and there's just not much a waspy vanilla guy like him is good for anymore. In this 33 flavor world. |
