A lot of what you say rings true, however it does not warrant a free pass for Greenspan, he still had a responsibility to the system he governed....he lacked the necessary vision to forsee the credit debacle he helped put in place, he lacked the fortitude to go against those abusing his "well intentioned" charity....he was too passive for the role he played.
