I understand that the way the provision that allows you to keep your existing health care will work is that as long as you have existing health care and no changes are made in its terms, such as the cost, coverage, etc., you can keep it, but if anything changes you must go into the government plan.

Also there are other issues:

Supposedly a large part of the funding will come from reductions in "savings" on existing medicare and medicaid programs and the claim is made that those "savings" will have to come about through rationing.

I have tried to follow this damn thing and there are so many competing claims and so little actually reduced to writing that it is just not clear what they are really going to do.

One provision I think is imperative is that the rules apply accross the board to Congress and Federal employees or we will end up with the fat cats having good health care and the rest of us being screwed.

Some other issues I have with the bill, which I have not been able to verify, is that if you can afford something that the plan does not cover, you cannot go outside the plan and pay for it yourself.

I don't like to rush something so complex without being sure everyone has had a good look at the bill.
