Hi Claude:

That and more. The Chinese minimally have to deal with:

- a massive rise in real unemployment due to the closing of thousands of factories.
- significant reduction in exports..... which is the foundation of China's economic resurgency.
- a banking system that is essentially bankrupt
- surging government deficits.

The US debt load is so massive that one has difficulty even imagining that it will eventually be repaid,..... unless hyperinflation occurs (which appears to be what the US government wants. Owning US$ denominated paper doesn't make sense to me in such conditions
