WHY doesn't the government set up another like kind of health organization for the people who are not 65+ and who need health insurance...there could be 3 or 4 different types...the individual pays the cost of the "group insurance" to the Government like they do to SS, and then the Government pays the different insurance companies to do the administration of the bills... Problem is that the Congress writes the rules...and knowing that, it's a wonder that Medicare works as good as it does. It still gravels me that under the "observation admit" from last Dec (now I know it is really an outpatient basis that needs to be observed by medical staff so the person is really in the hospital...) But the meds administered by this type of admit are billed by the "Each" and are deemed to be "Self Administered by the Patient" so therefore are charged to the patient with charges that are at least double or more of what a whole month Rx would be.... Turns out when one gets into that, Congress wrote the directions/instructions/justifications for that and and I quote "70% of the people admitted under this classification do take the medicine themselves".... Typical GoshDarn bureaucratic nightmare!!! A nurse brings in the meds (because the law says a patient can't bring their own in), the coding says the patient took the meds (when the nurse handed them to the patient), so the coding says "self administered"....EVEN the Shots...I don't even know how to give shots to anyone, let alone to myself. The Government is totally out of hand...
