My paternal grandfather was one of 13 - 9 brothers and 4 sisters. He had 3 sons and 1 daughter. My dad had 3 sons, 3 daughters. Of the 3 sons, 1 died and the other 2 produced 2 and 1 sons, who are in their 20s now but none married. There may be one grandchild out of those 3 - maybe. My son's father was the last in his line, (he was at sea in the Navy when word came that his brother had been killed during the Battle of the Bulge and his mother had obtained a discharge for him so he could carry on the name. He was upset that she did that). My son has only one son to carry on that name.
