The reason that nobody is buying cheap now and selling forward is that they are running out of storage. So it is the perfect play except that it can't be played. I think that includes UNG to an extend yet to be revealed.

NG gas price will go up in jumps right after the most paper expires at the least value. <g/ng>

It might be better to buy NG in the ground instead of paper gas, but I suspect the natural gas in the ground is already priced somewhat for future prices...
