*off-topic* Darrell, regarding: >> If China gave up political market power it would need a moral base upon which free markets could freely work. China continues the despotism because of the grave lack of a moral base - they jail their few Christians and continue to persecute other sects....<< 1. You speak of something you clearly don't understand. China has a lack of a moral base? Whoa, lemme see, last I saw slick Willie is still residing in the white house, our military has covered up for years the sexual shenanigans of our top ranked leaders, the ability to manipulate the law allows lawyers to transfer wealth from those ignorant of the system to those well-versed in the system (namely themselves), and....shall I continue?!! 2. Don't fall for the mistake of thinking the moral makeup of the present leaders is representative of the moral base of the people. It was a fortunate accident that the founders of THIS country were not corrupted absolutely by the power they possessed at the time. Perhaps soon China will also be fortunate to eventually have someone come to power who decides for the sake of the people that power must be diminished and rightfully restored to the people. 3. >>... It is odd to note that in China where the Christian population is booming (Southern Central China) the economy there is also booming.<< Please do not mistaken coincidence with CAUSE and EFFECT. Southern China is an example where Deng Xiaoping allowed his influence to diminish, allowing FREE MARKETS to reign. Reduction in centralized power yields greater freedom and greater prosperity. Nothing to do with religion. 4.>>...For China's Central Committee it is one of lust for power.<< Yes...as it is for most politicians or people who seek positions of power around the world. 5. An expanding free market requires an appreciation for freedom and the respect of individual rights. Morality has NOTHING to do with it. 6. Finally, I hope the leadership in China will care more for the people and give up their control and allow free markets to propel their people to greater prosperity, and that CYMER and cymer's shareholders (that's us!) among others benefits from this. I hope the West doesn't screw this up again by 'pressuring' them via the wrong methods (like using opium)...
best of luck to those of us LONG cymer. barry
