I understand what the department of walking is for. I also understand its a ridiculous waste of resources. Everyone already knows walking and biking is good exercise and people can be trusted to make their own decisions to do that or not. This is a great example of nanny state socialism and I note that we're now up to three liberals who think the idea of departments of walking and government paid "ambassadors" of walking or biking are reasonable and desirable ideas.

All I know is....the liberal blue states tend to be more healthy with longer lifespans than the red states. It may be just coincidence or there may be something to it.
