Rice has been well-scewered. I don't even know her politics beyond that she was a repub and in foreign policy she mostly followed what the president wished... but does not Hillary do the same, and most Sec of States? They are a presenter of a case set forth by the President, after all... if they are good at their job, they do it well and make progress.
As to Rice... if there was much to say bad about her by blacks, I didn't hear it or read, but I miss a lot. but I did hear and read a lot bad about her as a black woman, by whites.... in the sense that there would be expectations of her actions or beliefs by whites because of her color, that could be considered racism, perhaps... not on par with denying a job, or thinking her subhuman... but a form of racism, perhaps.
Even as a lesbian, it is not up to me to decide a gay man's political agenda. If he goes with the power of wall street, ergo with repubs (tho that is rather the dems now, too, so what's the diff)... it is difficult. the repub party as a 'party' puts forth things about my 'people' I find unacceptable. however... I would take offence at some white male well-off 'liberal' inserting himself into the discussion too much. he doesn't understand the choices involved, nor the sacrifices.
white heterosexual well-off liberals, mostly older ones, are often an annoyance... though, as you know, no doubt... I do tend to agree on most things with them. |
