Lets have a little context:

"It is true that abortion is not illegal in Canada. You are correct in that. But it IS illegal for an unqualified person to do abortions. The position of the CMA which controls LEGAL abortions is that "Elective termination of pregnancy after fetal viability may be indicated under EXCEPTIONAL circumstances"

Response: It's also illegal for an unqualified person to install electric devices but that says nothing logically about the morality of execution by an electric chair now does it? It simply begs the question.

Answer: It does not intend or purport to say anything about the morality. It only says what it says. DUH!

Yes it was superfluous and irrelevant which is probably why you capitalized "IS". It does beg the question of whether Abortion is morally justified, just as the un-defined term "exceptional circumstance" does. We've already seen that "exceptional circumstance" is a meaningless term that can be used to kill Human Beings for nothing more than simple inconvenience and that you fully support that kind of abuse. A simple appeal to the authority of the killers does not help much either. So the question remains. Can the killing of defensless Human Beings for frivolous reasons be morally justified?
