skeeter: that sounds like it makes sense; the evidence however suggests otherwise, that while consumer driven health care can effect some reductions in some expenditures, it does so without improving overall spending and with worse outcomes. under-utilization of health services is actually a larger problem than you would imagine. most overutilization is at the hand of medical professionals. tell me that you can imagine most consumers being savyy enough to tell their docs when to not do certain tests and procedures?
