Interesting find, but I wouldn't put too much stock in it...

>>Top Dem (lawyer for DNC, NOT an independent investigator)<<

The info quoted shows that he contributed $1,000 to the DNC, not that he was a lawyer for the DNC.

>>No wonder Mr. Daniel leaked this to the Associated Press.<<

That's an unproven allegation. Palin's lawyer and her BFF both insinuated that the plaintiff leaked it, but she denies it. The anklebiters are insinuating that Palin's staff leaked it, so she can play the victim again. Take your pick on what to believe! ;)

FYI, the Personnel Board also hired a Democrat to conduct it's investigation for the Troopergate ethics case. Since the board was appointed/reappointed by the Governor, and serves at the pleasure of the Governor, perhaps it intentionally hired Democratic investigators to balance things out...

The Personnel Board hired Tim Petumenos, a registered Democrat who contributed to Palin's opponent for governor in 2006[131], as its investigator.
...

On November 3, 2008, CNN reported that the Alaska Personnel Board had concluded its probe and determined that Palin had not violated ethics laws, contradicting the earlier investigations. Tim Petumenos, the lawyer hired by the Board to conduct the probe, was quoted as stating in his final report, "There is no probable cause to believe that the governor, or any other state official, violated the Alaska Executive Ethics Act in connection with these matters."[4]
