The cop was right to ask for ID, then Gates went off. It was a lack of maturity on Gates part

Once the Cop knew it was Gates, he should have ignored Gate's tantrum and got out of there. Now he will go nowhere on THAT police department. Good Cop rule is, "don't screw with the rich and famous." They ARE powerful.
