We bought a car like that a few years back while overseas; drove the Lexus model we wanted at a dealer, then called DC area dealers to get the best price, did the order over the phone with a bank transfer payment, then the State Department shipping office picked it up, drove it to the dock in Baltimore and off it went to us in southern Africa. I've never set foot in the dealership it came from to this day.

I'd love to buy our next car that way too. But we plan to keep the Lexus a long time, which is how long they last.
