BNN has a lot of good stuff, but I simply can't stand (a) Linda Sims trying to palm herself off as some kind of analyst who "knows" why the market went up or down and loves giving us her opinions on that whether we have any choice or not, and (b) those insipid ads they run where some old lady in a cheesy pant suit from Zellers (like another Linda Sims) starts talking about "how hard it is to get up the nerve to buy stocks" but then adds "when it starts to pay off, you feel like a million bucks"

I wonder how many little old Canadian ladies bit on that ad last year and dug into their GICs and tried to "play the market" as if it was some new kind of corner store lottery ticket game, and then found out last March what it's like to feel not like a million bucks, but something closer to $1.79

Then there was the E-Turd ad from a while ago with the 4 twenty-something smart asses who were daytrading in competition with each other as if the market was some kind of video game -- I don't see BNN running those ads anymore because E-Turd Canada got swallowed, but I see they've starting to run another series of the old lady ads again

I take it as an early warning sign that people need another smack across their face about market risk, and October is coming

Rant's over, LOL -- maybe it would be a good idea for me to go grab a beer
