That's an interesting proposal. (One that might actually have a lot of good results to it... and, after all, it kind of harks back to one of the original ideas many of the founding fathers had - that of 'citizen legislators' who would serve their country as a matter of civic duty for a few years, and then go back to private life.)

But I've got a question for 'ya: What's to prevent the newly conscripted legislators in your plan from *quickly* being co-opted and bought off by the lobbyists and big business / big government vested interests?

(And likely 'bought off' even faster, and for WAY CHEAPER then our current crop of 'sterling' legislators?) <GGG>
