I certainly didn't read the whole bill but I carefully read pages 424 to 434 which contains the text of SEC. 1233. ADVANCE CARE PLANNING CONSULTATION.

I can assure you that there is not the slightest hint of assisted suicide or euthanasia nor is there any suggestion that the government will dictate end of life treatment.

The section allows the individual to specify in advance (while still "compos mentis") what end of life treatment will be provided. A living will guides caregivers and family members in the event one becomes unable to communicate or of unsound mind. To deny that opportunity is cruel and inhumane.

The stuff you dismiss in a kneejerk manner comes from someone who has actually read the bill taking shape. IOW someone who knows more about the bill than you and per his own admission, President Obama.
