It's a pretty simple principle to grasp, much like the right price for a product. Too high, you don't move enough units, too low, you don't make enough profit - but in the middle are the maximum profits.


Idiot. Does it not occur to you that you made my point for me? When you increase the price of labor you don't "move" enough units.

At any rate, this is a liberal vs. conservative debate the literally spans decades, and while economists argue about it, the research is clear. There is a negative effect (although usually slight) on unemployment from increasing the minimum wage. Always has been, always will be.

You exacerbate unemployment ALWAYS by increasing the minimum wage. Just as surely as the Sun rises.

Anyone who is even vaguely familiar with economics knows this.
