No, the legislation doesn't "promote" it, it FORCES it. Which makes absolutely no sense.

I don't see why you're all bothered about forcing (assuming for the sake of argument that there exists such a strong requirement) medical professionals to tell you your options. I would object to if they were forcing people to sign DNRs but all they're doing is making sure that folks know that that and other options are available.

I have a living will and a medical power of attorney? Don't you? Shouldn't everyone?
