Excellent points! A few other observations. If a cop showed up at my door and said we had a report of a break-in. I would want to go outside and say "Thanks Helen, it's ok, I forgot my key and was trying to get in". to my neighbor who thoughtfully made the report. This points out that despite Gates many attributes and scholarly life, he apparently doesn't know his neighbors, or care very much about them. Of course, he could have been having a really lousy day, but it would have to be monstrously bad for me to not want to assuage the fear of my neighbor and the police officer. Obama was a complete fool to weigh in with the "they acted stupidly" remark. He must be getting some really lousy advice and preps lately. That's the problem with "Obama Unplugged" from his teleprompter. He says the dumbest things... Look for more appearances of TOTUS on the Obama reality T.V. show in the future.
