The only good thing about the excessive attention to this incident will be both cops and homeowners who will now consciously defuse misunderstandings before the homeowner is cuffed and the cop ends up with a lot of unwanted attention.

Both Gates and the cop were equally stupid, and Obama should have been more measured in his remarks by far. Time to move on.
