It is also true that the "profit" motive has screwed up a lot of what could be right about new drugs, or dietary ways of dealing with illness. Because the drug industry is such a profit center, no one cares much about the efficacy of vitamin D. If vitamin D could turn a profit for big pharma every damn doctor in America would be trying to get their patient on it, based in the snowballing evidence for it- but because we have a "great" capitalist systems, no one in the med establishment is pushing D- and many doctors are downright scared of it.

Talk about a stupid system. Prevention and good nutrition doesn't make anyone money, but it adds tremendously to quality of life, and it probably seriously reduces the need for drugs and medical care- but what system built on capitalist principles wants to reduce the cash coming in? That would be craaaazy.
