You are being a bit optimistic there, Elmat. What makes you think that the new powers will be more benign than the old ones? History doesn't provide much reassurance on that point. I'm no expert on China, but I seem to have somehow gained the impression that China isn't particularly kind to its minorities. (TJ will jump in now and tell me it's all nasty Western propaganda, and that the real enemy of the Tibetans is the Dalai Lama.)
