Yeah, I understand it's coming out very slowly, but I'm not sure its being "efficiently" spent.

During the 1930's they were building hydro electric plants and other projects that would not only offer short term work but also offer long term industrial growth. In MY area I'm seeing money spent on building "bike paths" and "park improvements". That's gonna offer some short term jobs but it's not going to create any economic development.

Also, in the school funding they're handing out they are sending money to districts that are already "flush" with money while districts that could really use it are getting much less.

Whatever we're gaining from the stimulus we're also losing through these massive State budget cuts. California will be firing a lot more people because of their budget cuts than they will be hiring because of the stimulus. They should have put $200 billion of the stimulus into a low interest rate loan program for the States.
