Sycamore, I have no doubt that this is exactly how it is done, including finding ways to enrich the local fiefs by giving them a piece of the acttion (like in Aksef case's giving 5% of the concession for free to a Sudanese oil company whose ownership no one can verify).

My doubts, if any, is not on the Kazakhastan side, it is on the JV, and how much hard cash they will poer in for what portion of the concession. The stroger the "perceived reserves" are the stronger is AIPN's position.

I am not in Faris enviable postion to hear rumors from within the industry on "how much oil" AIPN is sitting on. Nor can I or should I take that inter industry gossip and "barber talk" at its face value.
