why blame the homeowner when their dream of a house could be realized without putting much or any money down.The average American is not going to turn down a free lunch.Blame the real estate industry who were able to package these mortgages into a derivative and sell it to the rest of the world.The Lehmans and Bear Stearns of the world were leveraged more than these homeowners .Many people foreclosed on their homes but only Lehman went under........not a level playing field.
