Hi Steve:
Your post was very interesting about your experience selling before the 1990 crash.
You know I am thinking that it is only wise to sell out (barring bad news about your company of course) in a tax free account: when I sold my cocacola I realized that I effectively brought the sale price down, after taxes, to about $52 a share, and it has not even gone that low after all this nonsense rollar coasting. I bought Compaq with the money and its done much better than coke, of course, but I wont do that again. Good companies should only be sold in non tax accounts. Exception: If you are a determined day trader, than I guess you just count the taxes due in your gain.
As you know I think taxes are coercive theft.
