I saw a note from TD acknowledging that CIBC was top-dog in quantity of trading because they were using that high-speed computer system . I surmise it allows big US clients to beat everyone else to the trade at the best price possible. I wonder what that kind of mindless volume does to realistic values. It sure gives me a certain confidence in my own judgment in the face of unrewarding market prices. Any comment, anyone ?
