Quality of life contests? Would climate have something to do with that? We had to pad our rehab budgets to account for theft and kickbacks.......esp in the Houston area. None of that happens elsewhere? Baloney. If anything, rehabs of property ought to be cheaper here. The property sure is. Labors not high compared to blue states. Kickbacks? To who and for what? The fewer land use restrictions (Houston has no zoning) the less corruption in this area simply because there are fewer people to get approvals.
