When I flew planes, all you had was NiCad, and they were heavy. My planes had 7 cells, (about the size of C cells) I have seen planes with 32 cells, thats some serious weight.

I talked to a guy a few years ago who fly's planes and he only used Lithium batteries, I wish I had them back in the late 90's, would have made the planes 40% or more lighter. The battery pack was the heaviest part of the plane.
