if you insulate your home you'll get a big credit... there's an income tax credit for everyone, etc.)

Most homes have been insulated to the hilt since the 80's. Spending more money to get a tax credit doesn't make since. Even the new Cash for Clunkers program isn't going to make a big dent. Not enough people who will trade in their old car just to save 4 MPG. I have checked it out for my old Taurus. It gets a combined EPA millage of 19. I would like to buy a truck but the few that get 21 MPG are not stocked because nobody wants them. In fact I doubt I want one even though Obama will give me $3,500 dollars. And why the requirement to dump the car? That means the dealer cannot give me a trade in allowance because he won't sell the car (supposedly). The car won't go on the used market. If these cars were allowed to be resold it would depress the used car market and lower income people could also benefit. All of these stupid lefty bills are like that too complicated with ideas that only kill the effectiveness. Bills thousands of pages long. The interstate system was built from a bill only 20 pagers long. The specifications for the roads were a lot longer than the bill. That is the way it should be.
