Even though I admit to being a beer snob, I do categorize brews and there is a place for a beer like Bud for me. When I get back from a 2 or 3 hour bike ride, an American lager at close to 32 degrees is just what I'm looking for. Goes down in about 30 seconds and is very much appreciated. If I'm going to have a few beers while watching a football or basketball game, I'll go with an IPA. Lasts a lot longer and I enjoy the taste.

But if I'm in the mood for a long lasting sipping beer, I'll always opt for a Belgian - preferably a sour Flemish ale. I can easily spend two hours on a single 750 ml bottle. But they are expensive - I've even had one that ran $60 a bottle (the equivalent of $180 a six pack). The only disappointing Belgians I've drunk were made by InBev.
