Quick ones,

-Anyone that does not believe this market is being manipulated is not paying attention.

-The head of production for the number one or number two supplier in a specific automotive segment with every OE as a customer except the European makers told me that firm release orders for August are up 14%. After the shutdowns at GM and Chrysler this does not surprise, but it is the first data point of its kind in a while.

-Senior core buyer at well run American OE told me to bump volume on three of the five programs we are supporting this fall. He told me that the forecasting wizards are expecting a late third quarter bump in sales. I asked him if he believed this and he said flatly, NO.

-Buddy just added 40 acres in mid-Michigan back to the family lands. He is on the West coast and had to make arrangements to bid and close the deal with a family member in the area. Two interesting things. The land was originally sold by the family to the city for expansion. Turns out the city is broke and not only will not be expanding the school, but needed to sell to pay their nut. I thought he paid too much, but he told me that Chinese pig farmers are actively bidding up land in the area. That is data point two in as many months about an increase in the "redemption" of US Dollars by Chinese nationals.

-I guess the silver lining of the GM BK is that I can get a parking spot right in front of the building. In 23 years I've never seen the lots this empty. Just like the Chrysler supplier lot, you pull in and park. No more 250 yard walk in December cold.

-Idiots on CNBC today implying the strong Dollar is a bad thing. These people are just so clueless and so easily programmed by "someone".

-Watched Ben on PBS at the link provided yesterday. He is a liar and IMO, just trying to close the deal. He said the Fed was a federal agency. Hmmm, I guess so, but we know that is not really the truth. And, with few exceptions, the pre-screening effectively identified the most clueless and most willing to toss softballs. If Ben wants to come clean, just stand there and take real questions like a man with nothing to hide. I've got questions for you asshole.
