How can there be any communication with someone who refuses to look at the truth? Being confrontational with police is such a bad idea - especially for an educated black man with such extensive knowledge of past black/police historical problems. This man Gates above all people should have known the proper way to deal with police is to follow their instructions and then file a lawsuit if you feel they over stepped in some way. You can at any time say "I do not consent to a search of my house" but then you should stand aside and let them break the law if you think that's what they're doing - I learned this from an ACLU produced video. Never verbally abuse or block the police - it only invites escalation and arrest - even when you're right. Cops are not judges, they are blunt instruments of government - make you're legal arguments before a judge not a cop doing what they believe is their job.
