Same reason why they criticize Obama for taking his wife out to a Broadway show as promised.

Same reason why they criticize the way he threw the first pitch at the MLB All-Star game.

Same reason why the left went after Sarah Palin and her family.

This is all meaningless tabloid banter which has characterized much of the political discussion as of late. People who engage in this lunacy thrive on a sense of conflict and polarization that they help to create.

That's why I don't think this is a racial issue. Any idiot can jump up and down crying racism. Or sexism. Or homophobia. That just means said idiot wants attention.
