Unless you make it unambiguously clear to your Senators and Members of Congress immediately that the witches brew on healthcare they cooking up on Capitol Hill is totally unacceptable, a bunch of government bureaucrats will soon have to certify your health insurance policy before you can legally purchase it. Bureaucrats will set prices for every medical service, treatment, procedure and drug.

Why is President Obama acting so obsessively, driving the Congress like a team of mules to enact ObamaCare so fast without giving the American public ample opportunity to examine and analyze what is being proposed? According to the most recent Rasmussen poll, more people now oppose ObamaCare (49 percent) than support it (46 percent). Even many of his fellow Democrats are having severe second thoughts about ObamaCare. Yet, the President isn’t listening. OBAMA IS TRYING TO STIFLE THE DEBATE on this most important piece of legislation to be considered by the Congress in the past century?more important than the vote creating Social Security?bound and determined to ram it through the Congress by August 8.
The reason the President is trying to give the American public the bum’s rush on healthcare is simple: ObamaCare in all its variants is fatally flawed, it won’t work, it will lead to healthcare rationing and in the process destroy the American medical system as we know it. ObamaCare will break the bank and grievously harm the economy. It will blow a hole in the deficit and raise taxes to an oppressive level. No wonder the President is trying to rush this monstrosity through the Congress at unprecedented speed; the longer it is exposed to public scrutiny in the light of day, the more apparent these horrible facts become to everyone.
In all my years in Washington, I have never seen a more terrifying plan unleashed on an unsuspecting public. Obama’s bureaucratic abomination will corrode the very foundation of medicine?the Hippocratic Oath?which has underpinned the healing arts since ancient times. Orthopedic Surgeon Robert P. Nirschl, M.D., M.S. of Arlington, Virginia, put it best in a recent letter: “The house version of Health Reform [H.R. 3200, the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009] is in direct opposition to the Hippocratic Oath.

The practical ramifications of this bill virtually destroy the Doctor-Patient relationship. The Obama pledge that patients can still see their own doctor is a blatant mistruth and irrelevant as the doctor will no longer be free to act in the best interest of the patient. The AMA endorsement of the Bill as drafted is astounding and does not represent the position of the majority of Physicians in clinical private practice.”
That says it all. ObamaCare will undermine the ethical foundation of medicine and destroy best system of medical care in the world just so government can take it over and run it according to its own lights. It is hard to imagine a more outrageous act of hubris or an act of greater stupidity than to think bureaucrats can run the healthcare system. It can’t even run the post office.

Please don’t be misled by the innocuous-sounding bureaucratic jargon and mumbo jumbo being used to describe ObamaCare. It will place a legion of bureaucrats and government controls between doctors and patients. In the process, ObamaCare will corrupt the souls of healers and patients alike as the life-and-death struggle in which they will be forced to engage with bureaucrats to obtain timely and quality medical care turns everyone into a criminal. Back alley medicine will become a mainstay of America just the way it did in the Soviet Union.
Corruption, bribery, deception, black markets and favoritism were the hallmarks of Soviet medicine. They are all coming to America with ObamaCare. If you have any doubt of the enormous wedge ObamaCare will drive between patients and doctors, just take another look at the attached chart that shows the bureaucratic barriers that will stand between them under ObamaCare.
We can stop ObamaCare dead in its tracks if enough of you show Congress your outrage at what is being proposed. There will be plenty of time to come back later, when the economy is stronger and fix the real problems that exist with the current healthcare system without destroying it. There is no emergency, and the hype and hysteria the Obama Administration has stirred up is pure demagoguery designed to scare the American people into turning healthcare over to the government to run.
