The public has shown they don't want single payer for years. And they quite obviously still don't, which is why the Obama agenda is failing. Not only do they not want single payer they don't want a public plan of any kind.

Well as you know single payer isn't on the table. And the last specific poll I saw something like 70% supported a public option.

This administration has an agenda and they simply do not care whether it is contrary to the public's wishes. It is consistent with the Chicago Strongarm Politicians' wishes, and that's really all that matters.

I think this admin has demonstrated that they are willing to compromise and consider all good ideas. Although they have been very negative on tort reform, even that chip might be traded. But you are partially right if you refer to the Democrats in Congress. They are much more ideologically driven, as are the Republicans.
