I'm not sure that's true. PhRMA claims their 'contribution' is $80Billion. Whatever they are giving up, it is surely to preclude something that they believe would be even worse for them, not because they think this legislation is the best thing for the country. They're backing whatever they think is in their best interests. That's what they are about. Their job is not statesmanship.
