Sure there are unnecessary surgeries going on.

Some entire classes of surgeries are unnecessary - like most plastic surgery. And like sex change operations - which I understand are to be included in the government plan.

There are way too many caesarean deliveries I understand and fear of lawsuits is what drives it - thank you John Edwards and company.

I'm sure there are other examples.

I don't believe though that doctors are pushing unnecessary surgeries on patients for profit.

Many procedures have been discredited in studies but are still performed.

Really? Many? Doubt it, but would listen if you know of examples.
