I am so happy to report to the thread readers something that took place tonight that I didn't think possible.

It started when we talked to our BIL on the phone.

He lives in a very nice, tucked away little town in NJ near the coast. He voted for Ralph Nader for president in 2004 and, we don't know for sure, but he's intimated that he voted for Obama in 2008.

He drives a small car and tries to impact the environment as little as possible. He's not against paying taxes to help defend our country. He has worked hard all of his life, and put up with the onerous taxation of NJ for years. He complained right along with other liberals and democrats during the Bush years. About the economy, energy, the war, the Patriot Act etc. IOW he had been convinced by the MSM and his local (democrat) leaders that things in this country were horrible and there needed to be some "change."

Like his neighbors, he received his property assessment in the mail in February and was outraged to see a 25% increase in his assessment. He talked to his neighbors and they too had received the same or similar increase in their property assessment. They all got their heads together and everyone in his immediate proximity went down to city hall the Tuesday night and one by one told their elected officials how they felt about that. He said the exchange was quite animated, but fruitful.

It is too soon to know if he, or any of his neighbors will get relief, but if I had to bet on it, I'd say after pursuing legal channels they will all see a reduction in their property assessments.

In the mean time the subject of what is happening to our country now that Socialists are running things came up, and he said........he and his neighbors are talking about just who these politicians are and which ones they wish to support.

Few of them like the Democrats, few of them like the Republicans, and all of them believe that none of us have true common sense representatives in WDC looking out for what is in our Nation's best interest, and they are all very angry at what they are seeing.

;)
